The White Horse is jointly owned by Lance and Kelly Mawby.
Lance has been involved for almost all of his life in the hospitality industry. Lance together with Robert Probst set up his own catering company at the St Stephens Constitutional Club in Queen Anne’s Gate in SW1 in the early 1990s. Retired in 2003 Lance re-united with Robert to run the White Horse in November 2006.
Kelly is Spanish and has resided in the UK since 1973. Throughout the 1990s Kelly had her own company providing floristry services for London party organizers for a variety of hospitality events. In addition to front-of-house responsibilities she is now keen to apply her floristry experience to the White Horse Inn.
With over thirty years of experience at St Stephens, Robert has cooked for Royalty, Prime Ministers and Presidents. His food was frequently hailed the best in London’s St James’s ‘Clubland’ throughout his time in London. Robert re-united with his former business partner Lance in November 2006 to become joint Chef-Proprietor of his own country pub.
Robert has since unfortunately had to leave us, but he has been replaced by his Second Chef of 20 years, Nick Edwards, who continues to serve the same high-quality, fresh food. Robert still maintains an occasional consultancy role with us
